  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanila essence
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil unflavoured
  • 1/3 cup milk room temperature
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Take a bowl or a blender and add 3 eggs with 1 tsp vanila essence and beat/blend it well.
  • Add 1 cup brown sugar and beat it until the consistency is smooth and fluffy.
  • Add your 1/3 cup vegetable oil and 1/3 cup milk to the batter and beat it well until everything is uniformly combined.
  • Set that mixture aside and grab another bowl. Add your sifted 1 cup whole wheat flour. Swift it twice for better results.
  • Add 1 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp baking soda and sift the whole dry mixture into the wet mixture.
  • Mix the batter well. Add 2 tbsp cacao powder and 2 tbsp chocolate chips and mix the batter gently.
  • Transferred to a greased mold and bake in a preheated pan or oven for 40-45 minutes at 180℃.
  • After taking your whole wheat cake out of the oven, let it cool down for a bit covered with a foil to lock the moisture.
  • Cut into slices after it properly cools down and serve with tea or coffee!

Notes:

  1. Don’t forget to grease your cake mold or pan before starting to prepare for the wheat cake recipe.
  2. Before starting to prepare the batter of a cake make sure to put the eggs and the milk outside the refrigerator and let them sit for a while at room temperature.
  3. I used a blender for this wheat cake recipe however, you can beat the batter in a mixer as well. I personally loved how my cake turned out when I blended it in a jug.
  4. You can add in more chocolate chips if you love chocolate cake and want more of that healthy chocolate cake alternative feel.
  5. Be sure to insert a cake-testing tool (if you don’t have one, use a toothpick instead) to see if your wheat cake is fully baked.
  6. Cut it into slices and enjoy this healthy whole-wheat recipe and stay tuned for more!
